The beginning of the search for Librada de la Vega, who went missing during the Spanish Civil War.  She is rumored to be living as Libby Carrillo in an assisted living facility in Phoenix, Arizona.  Her friends from Spain, who now live in Mexico employ high school Spanish teacher, Renata Fernández, of Phoenix to go to Spain and find the truth.

The book begins with short conversations based on phrasic modules. Vocabulary and phrasic modules are presented in the story context.  Complete pronunciation and stress guide is included in the preliminary and early lessons.

Vocabulary themes are greetings and farewells, family, in the airport, travel and making purchases, making hotel reservations and going through Spanish customs.    Many dialog or "Plática" exercises are included for paired activities.  De Improviso... dialogs conclude each lesson for continued practice in speaking.

The conclusion of the search for Librada de la Vega with Renata and her impetuous companion, Patricia with a surprise ending.

Lessons 7 to 9 are a reviews of the elementary items presented in Book One.  Lessons 10 to 13 introduce the preterite and imperfect tenses, the object pronouns and other items necessary for a working knowledge of the Spanish language.  Vocabulary items feature rooms of a house, eating dinner at a home and at a restaurant and breakfast at the hotel.  These are woven into the continuing story.  Many dialog exercises are included for paired exercise work as well as the scripted De improviso... single scene dialogs at the end of each lesson.
